Almost everyone knows the game “Battleship.” For hours on end, we’d mark off squares, celebrate hits, and report “water.” In this outdoor version, however, the whole thing gets a bit bigger—and a lot more fun. Instead of playing on a sheet of paper, teams play right in the middle of the city. And instead of sinking ships, they go on the hunt for imaginary road users. Cars, buses, and other “targets” are hidden somewhere among landmarks, squares, and small, hidden spots. Sound crazy? It is. And that’s exactly why it’s so much fun.
Equipped with the game materials, each team sets off and tries to find the right locations. But be careful: Not every shot is a hit. As soon as a target is selected, the game master reveals via WhatsApp whether it’s “Hit!” or just “Miss!” And suddenly, the coworker who was just lost a moment ago becomes a self-proclaimed tactical expert. The tension rises with every round. Should they bet on the next square, or is the bus maybe two streets away after all? Discussions, wild theories, and creative strategies are almost as much a part of the game as the hits themselves. And of course, there’s always at least one team that’s convinced the others are “just lucky.” In the end, it’s not the fastest team that wins, but the one that combines its efforts cleverly, works well together, and keeps its cool even after several “Missed!” calls.
